Xiyuan Hospital of CACMS has been providing high-quality short-term international training in TCM for more than ten consecutive years, starting from 2010 with the China Aid Training Program of the Ministry of Commerce of PRC. Until 2023, Xiyuan Hospital has organized 88 Chinese medicine international training programs in China, abroad and online, has spread TCM culture, and has conducted technical training for more than 80 countries along the "Belt and Road", with more than 3,500 trainees.

Based on the foundation of international training in TCM for more than a decade, Xiyuan Hospital's "Construction and Application of Short-term International Training Model in TCM" won the 2023 Policy Research Award by the China Association of Chinese Medicine. The short-term international training model for TCM established by Xiyuan Hospital provides a short-term international training solution for TCM that is in line with modern management theory and combines online and offline training.

At present, Xiyuan Hospital has a management team of 5 official staffs from International Cooperation & Exchanges Center and 32 core lecturers on TCM international training, which has refined classic course programs such as TCM health care training courses, acupuncture and massage training courses for developing countries, training courses for advanced talents in TCM, and training courses on appropriate technology of TCM. The team has also compiled 2 textbooks on TCM culture promotion, produced 20 quality recordings of the courses, and standardized 4 pedagogical methods, including lectures, symposias, on-site teaching and cultural tours.

Xiyuan Hospital holds a teaching platform for international short-term training on TCM, which integrates the functions of check-in, lecturing, attendance, examination, discussion and evaluation, and is capable of carrying out various kinds of online and offline international training on TCM with high quality.
